7  Information about this guideline

7.1 Methodological principles

The methodology for creating this guideline is based on the AWMF regulations (version 1.1 from February 27, 2013). 7.2 Research, selection and critical evaluation of evidence

The basis for this guideline is the consensus of the guideline group based on existing scientific evidence as well as the experience and assessment of clinically active experts. The evidence was researched, compiled and selected by the guideline group according to relevance.

7.3 Structured consensus building

The structured consensus-building took place in the context of two structured consensus conferences on February 11, 2022 and March 18, 2022, independently moderated by Ms. Anne Krabbe, under the supervision of the AWMF. At the beginning of the conference, a working version of the guideline prepared by a working group was presented with suggestions for the editorial texts and the recommendations. Presentation of the recommendations to be voted on in the plenary session by the working group, opportunity for questions and submission of justified amendments, voting on the recommendations and amendments. If necessary, there was a further discussion, development of alternative proposals and a final vote.

For all those not present at the conferences, consensus on the recommendations was reached using the DELPHI procedure. Feedback was provided non-anonymously via email. For each recommendation, participants had the option of voting “I agree”, “I am against it and have the following amendment proposal” or “I abstain”. After one round, consensus or strong consensus was found for all recommendations.
